Ups and Downs

I was trying to submit a manuscript to The Journal of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics at work today...and that is a feat in and of itself since I have been dealing with mulitple senior investigators on the project.  Anyhow, it had been such a long time since I submitted anything to this particular journal that I coudln't remember, nor could I find, the appropriate log-in information.  The security question to access the site popped up as...

What is the name of your pet?

...and my heart dropped as I realized the answer was going to be  Kanook.  I sure miss that big red dog...and Bri-Bri...

Also...Tito is having his job interview RIGHT NOW as I type this.  First he had a phone interview and now today he is interviewing at the company.  I really hope it goes well...they would be lucky to have him!

Dr. Duke moved to North Carolina to do a second post-doc....I sure miss her around the office.  I have convinced myself that when I get a grant she will come back.  Dr. Duke did finish our wedding present before leaving...making us a beautiful quilt in red, black, and white heart patterns.  Buffy TVS took an immediate liking to it...

Pet Photo Contest Fixed!

I entered some photos into a pet photo contest.  I was feeling sort of confident because it was a contest for "The Principle Investigators Association".  How much competition could there be?  Well...it was fixed.  Seriously.  Here is the photo that won "cutest pet"....

It was fixed!  Foul!  Fail!!  Fuckers!  Seriously?  The contest was fixed!!!!!  I did get an "honarble mention" and a stupid certificate.  Whatever.  My pets are way cuter and wicked tricky.

Tito finally has a job interview for an actual job in his field!  Wahoo!  We are hoping for the best!
