Christmas Lights!!!

At the office Christmas party this year someone brought a box of solar outdoor lights that I really wanted to get my hands on...but I was unlucky during the present exchange...no surprise there.  I promptly went home and told Tito he had to go to Costco and get me these fabulous lights!  Little did I know, that Dr. Nancy Ator, also went and purchased a box for me.  Christmas lights extravaganza!!!!

Putting the lights out in the yard....

Oops...the point-and-shoot camera gets broken and I have no idea how to take pictures at night with our fancy Nikon!

But I get a pretty good shot during the dusk snow...

I LOVE ME SOME CHRISTMAS LIGHTS!!!!

Fresh from the dust bath...

Christmas 2010

Tito got me a new Denver hat!

Sadly, he also dropped and broke the point-and-shoot camera shortly after taking this picture.  Happily, this means we have to buy a new point-and-shoot digital camera since Linny isn't ready to pass hers down.  Sadly, this means we probably won't be able to get new cell phones any time soon.  Happily, we both hate cell phones and were simply caving to the pressure.

One-Trial Learning...

One thing that I hate about cats is when you have to constantly make sure they aren't going to run out the front door when someone opens it.  So...we successfully engaged in a one-trial learning procedure with Buffy during the first winter we had her.  Every year, a few days before Christmas, the Rosedale Fire Volunteer Fire Department drives around the neighborhood with three fire engines, with sirens going, lights falshing, Christmas music blaring, and Santa waving from the back.  After taking Buffy outside in the very cold weather while the Rosedale Christmas Circus went by seemed to work...she never acted like she was going to make a run for it.  This year was Spike's turn.  But, as you know, she is a manace and it did not go as smoothly.  She REALLY freaked out, made sounds I have never heard a cat make, and I had some single trial learning of my own....

Good news...I think it worked.  This morning, on my way out the door, I realized I forgot something so I walked back in and looked at Spike from the front door...when she promptly ran like a bat out of hell down the stairs.  I think she has a healthy fear of what lies beyond that front door now.  Mission accomplished.  Minimal damage.

Too cute for words!!

The birds stike again!

Yep...every six months the windows get cleaned and then a bird promply shits on the window...it is like the window cleaners are a signal to the birds that it is time to shit sidways.

Buffy has acquired her winter coat!
