Happily Ever After (Part 1)

Once upon a time....a girl bought a boy a six pack of Bud Light after he, his brother Brian, and his dad Ron had plowed snow from the boy and girl's shared driveway. She had contemplated making cookies but in the end, decided she wasn't much of a baker, and went with the Bud Light. The beer was a gesture of gratitude..she sincerely appreciated the removal of all that Michigan Snow, and they had cleared her driveway where it split into two. After the girl gave the beer to the boy...she expected he would come over and offer to drink it with her. But when he didn't promptly appear, she returned to his house and asked him if he planned to come over and offer to drink the beer with her. He insists, however, that he always intended to come over and that the girl had just returned too quickly. But I digress...after a first date on February 14th, 2001 the boy and girl became The Bride and The Groom on a adventure that was, let's say: not atypical of their travel experiences. They were in France on September 11th, 2001; and they watched the Humanitarian Disaster that was Katrina from a hotel room in Barcelona Spain in the Fall of 2005. Drastic changes to plans and "living in the moment" during their travels was almost expected by February 14th, 2010...their wedding day. On February 5th-6th (Friday to Saturday one week before the big event) we got 28" of snow and then we got an additional 24" during the period of the 9th-10th (Tuesday to Wednesday). We ended up paying some neighborhood kids to help us dig out. And, sadly, it appears our super postal system lost the wedding package sent to us by Nicole and Corey. On a side note, this is very sad for the obvious reasons, but also Nicole is one of the best gift givers cause she makes things so it really is sad. But...The Bride and Groom shoveled out and hoped conditions would allow travel and for a sunny day to travel. Here are some pics and a short video of Berry Pebbles and Tito in the snow prior to our departure...

Coming soon....Happily Ever After (Part 2)...will we get out of Baltimore? Will we make it in time to be married? Find out soon!

Just Married!!!

We are happily married! We officially committed to spending eternity as partners in crime on the nine year anniversary of our first date...unfortunately the photographer didn't show up...and so the proprietor insisted she was "good at taking pictures" and had taken pictures "for the paper" so she would take photos on her "perfectly good camera" and not charge us a thing! Then she proceeded to break out a digital camera so old it used a 3.5" floppy!! She gave us copies on a CD and I will download them...and post a blog with a full accounting of the typical Amy and Tito adventure soon!. But for now....here are some preview pictures Miss Paula took with our camera. We had a MAGICAL trip...

Spike the Explorer

So....as I was waiting for Tito to come out and model his wedding atire so I could snap some pics in our bright sunny kitchen...I decided to pic Spike up and let her look out the window. This was probably a mistake...she has spent much of her time since then trying to get back up there by herself. She couldn't get enough of watching the birds and soaking up the sun. I think we are going to have to find some kind of shelf or something so she can sit in a window. I did manage to snap a couple pics...and a hilarious video of her attempt to crawl out of my arms and into the narrow ledge. Also, I picked Buffy up and she had no interest in looking out the window...she just wanted to make herself comfortable in my arms. ***no kitties were hurt in the making of this blog post***

Dear Kitties

The dishes with the paw prints are yours and contain your food. The other dishes are mine and contain my food. Placing a paw print in the middle of my plate and food does not stake a claim for it becoming your food and dish, nor do I find that aesthetically pleasing in the slightest.

The stairway was not designed by NASCAR and is not a racetrack. Racing me to the bottom is not the object. Tripping me doesn't help because I fall faster than you can run.

I cannot buy anything bigger than a king sized bed. I am very sorry about this. Do not think I will continue sleeping on the couch to ensure your comfort, however.. cats can actually curl up in a ball when they sleep. It is not necessary to sleep perpendicular to each other, stretched out to the fullest extent possible. I also know that sticking tails and paws straight out to maximise space is nothing but sarcasm.

For the last time, there is no secret exit from the bathroom! If, by some miracle, I beat you there and manage to get the door shut, it is not necessary to claw, whine, meow, try to turn the knob or get your paw under the edge in an attempt to open the door. I must exit through the same door I entered. Also, I have been using the bathroom for years - canine/feline attendance is not required.

The proper order for kissing is: Kiss me first, then go clean/sniff your butt etc. I cannot stress this enough.
