And Spike makes FIVE!!!!
Tito and I are now the proud parents of Spike....a little girl sphynx kitty we adopted this past weekend. We just couldn't resist. Buffy the Vampire Slayer needs a playmate...ok that is part of the rationalization. Also part of the rationalization...the "care" of two cats is basically the same as the "care" for one cat right??? Spike is the vampire boyfriend/frenemy of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. It is a bad-ass name for a bad-ass bitch!!!
Isn't she adorable? Ok, I know some think the hairless kitties are ugly but we can at least agree that they are so ugly they wrap around and end up back at cute right?

Buffy the Vampire Slayer takes a cautious glance at the new arrival. She did a lot of hissing the first few hours.
Discovering the endless entertainment that are the chins.

Buffy stopped hissing at Spike and started inching closer and closer to check her out. I guess she figured she was here to stay when she was still there the next morning.

Carlisle Bike Fest 2009
Tito, myself, and Berry Pebbles went up to Carlisle last weekend for Bike Fest. Well... actually...we went to Carlisle so Fred and Tito could go to Bike Fest and Berry Pebbles and I could have some girl time with Kathryn. I believe a good time was had by all.....

Tito and the V-Max of his dreams.
Cost: $30,000
Keep dreaming my love!

Fred tries on a face mask.

Fred and Tito waiting for their women to pick them up.

Fred on his motorycycle...he couldn't actually ride it becaues it had a dead battery after he left the keys in it while he and Tito were at Bike Fest all afternoon.

Berry Pebbles enjoys the view on the ride home.

Mickey and the Kids
Berry Pebbles and Mickey had a bit of a rough start this visit....Berry Pebbles wasn't too sure about him to begin with (he does smell funny!) and then Micky was mid-battle with Buffy and leaned over to pick her up....unfortunately, Berry was having none of it...she barked and snapped in defense of her sister. Keep in mind here that Buffy had the time of her life...Mickey chased her all over the house and she LOVED it. It is hard to chase a cat you know...try it sometime. Anyhow....as you can see from the pictures....Mickey and Berry became great friends after he gave her some treats and brushed her. The moral of this story is: make friends with the dog BEFORE you torture the cat.

Seeking Heat
Since the heat demon is hibernating, Buffy the Vampire Slayer has taken to sun worship....this has led her to discover that the space between the screen/storm doors and the regular doors is very warm and often directly in the sun. She doesn't try to get outside (thought it is probably only a matter of time) but she wants us to leave her in the space in between the doors.Tito came home from running an errand a couple days ago and it was about an hour later that I noticed Buffy wasn't within my eye shot and so I wondered aloud where the cat was...though we were very involved in the Lego Star Wars video game and didn't get up to look for her. We agreed she must be downstairs doing some personal business. Then around another hour and a half later I wondered again where she was and got up to look for her. I wandered around to her usual places...on top of Berry Pebble's kennel....the room where her food is....on our bed (she often sneaks in even though we keep the door closed)...playing with a toy in the kitchen...curled up with Berry Pebbles...but there was no Buffy. I was calling her name when Tito said he heard her meow...we both paused and listened for it (she often got stuck in cabinets as a kitten and we would find her by her meow). And, yes, in fact she had managed to get between the storm door and the front door when Tito came home. She was there for 2 1/2 hours without ever making a sound! She was probably happy as pig in shit! Silly girl. We are being much more careful now!

**Yet another reason Amy and Tito will not be breeding...being too wrapped up in a video game to check on a human child would be bad.

This is Birdland!!!
While Mickey was visiting we decided to go to an O's game....too bad the Red Snots were in town. They ALWAYS beat the O's and the tickets cost more because they are "premium" games. "Premium" games are games that draw bigger crowds for the visiting team...so basically the Red Snots and the Yankees (as I vomit in my mouth a bit) constitute "premium" games. The weather was beautiful as we walked up to Camden Yards....even though I know that God really only hates sports teams from Detroit...I agree with the sentiment from the United Methodist Church. We started by going to the Camden Club for some pre-game drinks and some food. My friend Angie (Dr. Duke) joined us at the Camden Club. Our friend bar tends so we get some pretty good deals on our drinks...as long as we tip extra well!
Mickey and I pause for a photo when exiting the Camden Club. As a true O's fan, I had already consumed a couple "orange crushes". Mickey was enjoying Long Island Iced Teas
The game went as usual...the Red Snots were up by 7 in the 6th inning. My favorite hot dog won the race though...the RELISH came through!
Dr. Duke is from Massachusetts and so was enjoying the Red Snots beating the pants off the O's. We never even found the seats we bought tickets for. We just went down behind the dug-out and sat where there were four seats together. When people would show up to sit there we just moved on to four different seats!
The Bird cheers on Matt Wieters...the newest addition to the O's. It is very exciting because he is a great catcher AND he can hit! Too bad at this point they were still down 8-1.It started pouring rain and there was a mass exodus for cover. I think Mickey and Tito were the last two people to run for cover.
We ended up going back up to the Camden Club to wait the rain out. The rain delay was over an hour long....
But soon enough we were back in our seats and, in fact, had upgraded to three rows behind the Oriole dug-out! And...to our great surprise...the fucking Baltimore Orioles made the biggest comeback in Oriole history! They came back to win the game! I am sure that if Mickey hadn't been there we would have left during the rain delay and missed the greatest game in O's history. We Tivo'd the game and found ourselves in the stands during one play...when several O's scored after a hit by Brian Roberts. In the camera shot of us, Mickey and I are yelling and screaming our heads off, Dr. Duke is sitting with her arms crossed (obviously distressed by the downhill spiral of her beloved Red Snots), and Tito is missing because he had to run to the bathroom! Finally!!!! It wasn't me that was gone to pee!
Our favorite O, Nick Markakis, gets interviewed after the game. It was a FANTASTIC game and we had a bitchin' time. Seriously. It was bitchin'.
