Fun with Pets!

We have gotten much better at being able to use our fancy shamncy Nikon that I just had to have.  I blame it on my genes really....I just wanted to fit in with Papa, Corey and Mickey.  Since I have figured out how to use it...I think the only problem is the size...it is a big ass camera to carry around...and in fact I think what I need to get is a smaller lense for it.  The pictures I really like to take are close and fill most of the frame...not really what the two lenses we have are meant for.  None-the-less...I am getting much better at using it and getting the pictures I want.  And, it has super awesome capabilities we am learning about.  Stay tuned for some of my more ambitious projects soon!  And of course...the pets are my favorite subject!  On a side note...I have been day-dreaming (also part of my genes) about entering my pet pictures into pet photo competitions and winning bunches of prizes...like back in the 40's and 50's when women would enter advertising jingle contests to make a living while their alcoholic husbands spent all the money meant for food and shelter on booze and loose women.  Only...I would enter to make a living because I lost my job when science funding was cut and my husband never found work after completing a desgree because no one is designing anything anymore.  Science and innovation...just say no!  Sadly, part-time jobs at Target doesn't pay the mortgage.  Anyhow...here are some of the pictures I have been taking!

Fun with Pets

We had the chins out last night...Spike gets to stay in the room.  She and Fang (the grey chin) play...sort of.  Spike works up the courage to get close enough to touch her and when she does...Fang jumps up in the air in an unpredictable manner (thank you evolution!) and this scares the crap out of Spike who retreats in the opposite direction (sometimes colliding with Fang anyhow) and Spike has to work up her courage to approach again.  Meanwhile, Fang just goes about her business hopping around checking everything out.  Tater (the chin above), on the other hand, won't come out unless Fang is already out and since she has some vision issues we think this is why she doesn't stray too far from her home.  Spike spends most of her time stalking Fang and pays little attention to Tater...but what a cute picture right?  Buffy the Vampire Slayer is left out because she sits in the corner and growls and when Fang gets close she thumps her on the head repeatedly (regular little Bunny Foo-Foo that one).  I don't really think Fang cares but Buffy really isn't playing...and frankly...Buffy doesn't play that well with others.  And, of course, Berry Pebbles thinks the chins are whats for dinner...so she stays in the backyard while the chins are out because just the sounds (and smells) of them out of their cage running around in their room will send Berry Pebbles into fits as she digs at the door to get in and catch some dinner.
