The Heat Demon has Risen!

We had to turn our heat on last night for the first time since last winter. We just had the air conditioner on Monday! It was like Fall just started Wednesday morning. Last weekend it was in the 80's and this weekend it is supposed to be in the 50's! Bizarro. Anyhow, Buffy was happy to celebrate the return of the Heat Demon. It was hilarious how excited she was...purring at various heat registers and running around like the demon had gotten into her! Maybe she IS possessed. It would explain so much.

Women's Rights Update: Football Players for Boobs

I am sure everyone knows by now that October is breast cancer awareness month. What you might not realize is that women have made some significant progress in our fight for equal rights this month. That is right, the NFL has embraced boob cancer. You might think I am being snarky but I am not. I am impressed. It wasn't an easy thing for the white kids to allow the black kids to come and play in the same league....and now they have united for boobs! And they aren't just talking the talk....they are walking the walk too....in pink!!! I love it. A group of men with arguably the most macho image on the planet are wearing pink as part of their uniform. It just goes to show you that in then end...we may make less money and take longer to be promoted, we may put up with blatant and nuanced harassment at our jobs based on our sex, we aren't technically allowed on the front lines of war (though where the front line in wars these days is located is debatable and women are serving and dying in combat even if the men won't say it out loud), we might be harder on ourselves about job performance than men are on each other, we might be called "baby" or "honey" twice a day by men, and we may pay more for cars...but we have boobs. And even the most manly men of them all will wear pink in honor of boobs. We rule.

An Evening with Poe

Tito, Dr. Duke, and myself went to check out "First Friday" at The Walters Museum (http://thewalters.org/museum_art_baltimore/the_museum.aspx) and had a great time. It was Edgar Allan Poe night and they had an impersonator doing readings. It really wasn't his night though...people were gathered in a huge marble area that was open to the four or five stories above. Like an open-air marble atrium. So...the acoustics were working against him...and then he had to read from a script! What kind of self-respecting Edgar Allan Poe impersonator needs to read The Raven from a script??? But...since it was free we were still impressed. There was also live harpsichord music that lent itself to the macabre mood, although what is up with the white socks? We were able to see some of the "creepy" things in the museum's Chamber of Wonders, The Armor room, and the Collector's Study. It was intriguing and we will definitely go back to see the whole museum.

Good Morning Sunshine!

This is what I saw when I got out of the shower this morning....

The kitties are only allowed to be on the bed if they stay down by our feet. Apparently, as soon as the enforcer gets in the shower, all bets are off. It is every kitty for herself.

No one will play with me!
